New Gaming Rig, Need help?
This is my first pc building. I wanted a PC for gaming and future-proof. What am I missing or what else do you recommend? Thanks
Motherboard: EVGA 790i Ultra SLI DD3 ATX Intel - $340 [rebate: $30]
Graphics Card: EVGA gtx 280 - $440 [rebate: $40]
Memory: OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x 2 GB) DDR3 (PC3 12800) - $290 [rebate: $50]
Case: Antec Twelve Hundred ATX - $150
Power Supply: Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W - $150
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad9450 @ 2.66GHz - $320
Hard Drive: 7200rpm Ultra ATA/100 - $0
CD/DVD Reader: CD-RW DVD+RW - $0
OS: Windows Vista 64-bit Home Basic $90
In the future I want to overclock some things and I will eventually add two more atx280 sli and I will be using a 19inch 1280x1024 and at future updates a 32 inch 720p/1080i hdtv
It looks pretty awesome. If I had to suggest anything to help improve upon it, I would say the HDD could be a bit faster, you seem like you have a large budget, so you should get a couple 10,000 RPM drives, like a Velociraptor or something. I would also get Vista Home Premium.
On a side note, Vista is getting really cheap.
