Microphone for Acoustic Guitar?
I want to be able to put a microphone by my Acoustic Guitar and have the cable go right into my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Amplifier. No boxes or anything else.... And I want it to be loud. I have a Shure SM57 or 58 and now I know those won't work, I also have a condenser mic MXL 990 + 991.... I have messed around with this for years. I just want to be able to plug a mic into my guitar amp., put it 8 inches away from the hole and have it sound clear and loud with no feedback thru the amp. thx
The best mic is the Sm57 to amplify an acoustic guitar since it will pickup directly from the sound hole. Just make sure it is close to it and aligned with the hole.
As far as feedback, you need to set the amp correctly. Put the bass at 6, midrange, 5, and high 7. If there is feedback, then lower the treble to 6 although , I think the settings I gave are good.
