What distortion pedals should i use?
I have an original (not the reissue) 1993 fender blues deville 410, and i was wandering what pedal i should get, i hate nu metal or mainstreams stuff, i like bands such as judas priest, Black Sabbath, Dio, Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, And other older heavy metal bands, i want to find a tone closest to that of judas priest during the painkiller album, i can afford anything so dont suggest crappy pedals, and remember, i want an analog sound, not a digital overly distorted loud mess, i hate line 6 because of this, i play with a fender strat if that helps.
As you can afford anything I'd suggest finding out what amp head the band used for recording and buying one of those, then getting an A-B amp switcher to change between the combos amp section and the seperate head, (might as well use the combos speakers). If you really want to go crazy, fit yourself with the speakers the band used and the pickups too.
Alternatively check out either Mesa Boogie's V-Twin or an old Marshall Shredmaster.
