Marshall MA Series amps?
I was wanting to purchase a marshall head for its classic tone and its tube power. I was looking at this head

this is the first ive seen of this series. im guessing its a new series. does anybody know about it. i heard alot of people talk about the MG series not being all that good. I was wanting something like the jcm800 head but its way out of my price range. this looks like a good head, its 100w tube and has two separate channels, which is what im looking for, plus its got that marshall tone that i want.
so my question is, is this amp a good amp? does it live up to the marshall name or is it more of a let down like the MG series?
The MG series isn't as bad as people like to think it is.... at least, the 50w and above models. You aren't going to get the sound quality of a 2k$+ amp, but for being what it is I certainly have no problems with it. My buddy has an MG 100w Head, and I've been consistently amazed at how good he sounds, through a *solid state amp*! *gasps in the audience*
Seriously, though, compared to a JCM800, no, of course an MG isn't as good. But it doesn't mean it sucks. Use a guitar with decent pickups (my buddy uses either EMGs or Blackouts) and couple 'em with a decent set of speakers (he has a Marshall 1960a cab I sold him) and they actually do sound pretty dang good. And oh yeah, you don't have to worry about the "gee, I have to turn this 100w tube amp up so it sounds good" thing.
Anyways, it looks good on paper. Looks really nice on paper, actually. Maybe see if YouTube has clips? Couldn't find any reviews on the sites I normally go to....
I'd give it a shot, sure....
