The Line 6 is going to have the best metal sound out of the box. All of the settings (models) on the Line 6 sound really good for a solid state amp in that price range, but between the 2 metal and 2 insane settings you have a variety of metal tones. One of the guys I play with uses this exact same amp at rehearsal and it sounds very good, especially for heavy metal and hard rock. Also the delay and chorus effects are decent, reverb not so much but that's okay. The Celestion speaker has a good fat sound. Hard amp to beat for the money. I have a Line 6 effects unit that has the same effects as this amp. I use it with my Marshall Class 5, my home practice amp, and it sounds very cool.
