will a 2 channel 750 Watt Amp give more power to my subs then a 1000 watt 4 channel amp?
I have a 1000 watt 4 channel hooked up to two 10 inch subs. they were louder when i had the 750 watt in... is this because all the power is focused on two channels instead of 4?
then why are they louder with the 750?
how do i hook up the amp to my speakers?
Not enough information is provided. You're most likely speaking of MAX rating, and that says absolutely nothing about the amp. But lets say they're both the RMS rating (highly doubt it).
The 4 channel one is 1000W in 4 channels... thats 250w per channel. You're most likely wiring them to 2 channels so each subwoofer gets 250w. Now, if you bridge all 4 channels (making it a 2 channel) then you will get 500w to each subwoofer. On your two channel... your getting 375w on each...
AGAIN, that is trying to explain your situation. IT IS NOT THE CASE. For all we know, the 1000w is max rating for all channels, or it could be 1000w rms for each channel.... Ohm loads play a big role on power too, so stating the voice coil configuration of your subwoofers help.
Include the model numbers of both ur amps, and the model number of your subwoofers to get a fuller answer.
